February 27th
Seth would dominate his debut at Magnolia Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi by winning the USCS Series main event by almost nine seconds and lapping up to fourth place.
Seth would come out strong by charging from fifth place to win his heat race. That would make him the high points driver following heat races. He would roll a four which would line him up on the outside of the second row for the 30-lap feature event.
“I’d never ran that track so every time I was on it I was trying to learn,” he said. “I figured come feature-time it’d be on the fence. That was my game plan. That’s basically where I raced in the feature. Something I pride myself on is being able to run the cushion and the fence and that played into my hand."
“There was the initial start and I took the lead on the backstretch, but the red came out. I had to start third on the second start. I was in second before we exited turn two and on the second or third lap I took the lead.”
“I knew that I probably had a good lead,” he said. “I judge myself on how much I can get out of my race car. I felt by the pace I was setting that nobody could hang with that pace. I was trying to see how far I could push it. We’re trying to see how much we can get out of our car and test and tune before the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour season begins.”
March 4th
Seth would make his first start with the Lucas Oil ASCS Southern Outlaw Sprints, taking the win at the Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Seth would come from third in his Oil Field Equipment and Manufacturing #23 and would be chased to the line by Michael Miller and Derek Hagar.
April 8th
Seth led all 25 laps of the ASCS Red River Region event at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Oklahoma where he last won in 2013 and has recorded a triumph during four of the last six years.
Seth would kick off his night by winning his heat race after starting on the outside of the front row.
“I knew that I needed to win to get in the redraw to give myself a good shot at winning the feature,” he said. “It’s important to capitalize on good draws. At Creek County the further forward you can start the better.”
Seth was able to pull the 2 in the random redraw, which would line him up on the outside of the front row for the feature.
“The main event played out how I pictured it in my mind,” he said. “I knew it’d be tough with Bryan Clauson (on the pole). With the way the track was shaping up and how short 25 laps goes by there it was important to get the start and lead off the bat."
“We had three or four starts because people kept crashing. When we finally got one in we were side by side all around the race track before I passed him on the high side coming out of turn four. We got to traffic and he was closing in, but I didn’t ever see his nose wing. For the lapped traffic I did deal with I was able to make quick work of them so it worked out well.”
